can someone tell me how it all went down, the resurrection and everything else. malcolm x said he was black, is that true? did he even exist? also why do people say if you dont believe in him you go to hell, what are your thoughts? please explain :thumb:

I've never read the bible so i'm no expert, but Jesus was dark skinned (most likely arab), and I think most people (including other religions) believed he existed. Was he God's son? Was he God? Did he resurrect? Some say he was/did, some don't.

You should also note that while some see him as the son of God (Christians), Muslims see him as another prophet like Mohammed. I'm not too sure about other religions but by being revered by these two, you can be certain than a lot of people believe he existed.

People are said to be going to hell for not believing in him? I'm not sure, as an athiest I don't know too much about this. Obviously as an athiest, this doesn't bother me anyway.

While I'm not sure if being not believing in him is said to bring eternal damnation, I do know that when the Rapture kicks in, all the non-believers are said to be fucked!

I'm not entirely sure "how it all went down," my bible studies leave something to be desired, but....

One thing I found interesting in a book I was reading was the suggestion that Jesus was an ordinary man of little significance, but who's story was exaggerated overtime and misinterpreted to create the Jesus that we know of today.

Apparently Jesus made little progress in the establishment of the Jerusalem Church and was never well known nor renouned for performing miracles. Rather it was his brother, James who progressed the Church and the wrong story of Jesus was portrayed and accepted by latter Churches by a man wholly unconnected to Jesus himself (I forget the man's name, I dont have the book with me).

In addition the so called "miracles" were merely every day acts described in a poetic way, which if read in light of the method of expression at the time, hold little significance and cast shadow on the image of Jesus and the elevated status that we have been lead to accept.

This theory appeals to me, because while I am open to the idea of a God of some description, the belief in Jesus which is the basis of the Christian beliefs around me, has always been harder to accept. As a man, I admire his concerned for humanity and the extent of his faith, as for being the son of God, i just dont know.....

Isa as we muslims call him, was not arab he was Hebrew a jew, now REAL jews look very arab in fact arabs an jews share the same dna.As far what he means to various religeons, to us (muslims) he was a prophet, not a god or a "son of God" to the jews honestly i dont know bout that one i know they dont see him as the messiah an the jews of his time considered him to be a blasphemer. The christains of course as you know see him as God an God's Son.

Christians believe that if you do not accept Jesus as God's son an the savior of mankind then you can not be "saved" until you do so.by being saved i guess that means ya going to hell in a hand basket, anyway i personally found it hard to believe an ridicuilous for "God" to have a son, that would give God a human fault, which he doesnt have. sorry for the double post, but yes Little Skittle is right i forgot about that! the christians also believe there will be 7 years that the devil has reign on earth before the day of judgement, in that 7 years time if you didnt previously have the opportunity to accpet Jesus as your Lord an savior an you will be saved an fight in God's army during armagedon. sounds too much like an infomercial to me, "missed out the 1st time BUT WAIT we're offering you another chance"!

Nobody can tell you how it went down, thats how shit gets misunderstood coz nobody today was living all those damn years ago. If you want to find out about it, go read the Gospels. If you think he was a Prophet and didn't die on the cross go read the Qu'ran, if you think he died on the cross and resurrected go read the Bible. Go to the source of your question.

Not necesserily, Jews and Palestinians share the same dna, it's not the same with other Arabs though.
We as Muslims believe that it wasnt Jesus who was crucified, but his student who betrayed him.I dunno the exact story though, I'll leave it to ken or Yahya as I dont want to give you the wrong info.
