is it possible to be color blind in one eye?

menace is right. basically both your eyes project one image. imagine you take two different photos from slightly different angles of the same object, and blend them together. that is what your brain interprets through your eyes. color blindness is in the part of the brain that interprets the blend of two images, not in each individual eye.

Well, that's what I doubt. I think it actually is a fault in your eyes, not in your brain but if your genes have a lil fault on them, it will be visible in both eyes, not one.

Actually, it is possible but extremely rare. Colour blindness is usually genetic, but you can become colour blind through damage to the eye or brain. What someone who is colour blind in one ye sees through the colour blind eye isn't quite the same as what I see (I'm colour blind) because they have experienced full colour vision and so they obviously see more contrast.

color blindness is caused by damage to the genes.you can be born liket hat or diseases can damage them. the genes for the red and green cones are carried on the "x" chromosome. if one of these genes doesnt have another x chromosome to compensate, there will be color deficiency. it rarely happens to females cuz they have another x chromosome that can compensate.the gene for blue cones is on chromosome 7.

you can get lenses for your eyes that will compensate colors for your damaged genes.

it will only happen to one eye if that one eye is damaged physically.if its a genes problem,it will happen to both eyes

Yeah Im Color Blind Too in Both Eyes Found Out About It When I Was In 2nd Grade, The Doctor Had Told My Folks.

I Have Trouble With Certain Colors, I'll Say That Its This Color When In Fact Its A Different Color. It Happens With Darker Colors.

Case Example, When I Bought My Mini-Van I Thought It Was A Dark Blue Color. When In Fact People Told Me, "No Its A Dark Gray Color". I Didnt Believe It, I Had Read On My Title An Owners Manual That It Was Gray.

Another Time I had My Room Painted. I Mistakenly Got The Colors Wrong I Thought My Room Was A Dark Green, Again I was Wrong. The Paint Was A Dark Blue.

I Did Not Know That You Could Be Color Blind In One Eye. I Always Thought It Was Both Your Eyes. (Ya Learn Somethin New Everyday).

I get a similar thing with dark greens and dark blues, they often look grey (or vice versa). I also have a problem distinguishing between red and brown sometimes.
