Is it bad 2 constantly turn off ur computer?

i was always told it isnt good.

how about when your laptop battery runs down and it shuts down? is it bad to let that happen too often? although i think its shuts down itself properly.

if you know the model of the HDD it might be easier trying to find the power cable online; otherwise HDDs are very cheap these days. try an online backup to your hotmail or whatever you use.

Yeah but there could be some corruption on the ram board. I did some research into why it happens. Do you get a blue screen at all?

Ram fails really rarely and if it does it usually is faulty from the start or after overclocking. That's why many companies give away lifetime warranties. However it's good to check it out with memtest or something similar.

It might be a virus or even PSU if it freezes more often if it's under heavier load. Actually most hardware fails are caused by the PSU since people buy the cheapest ones that don't hold their voltages.

i always employ my laptop with power cable plugged in 'cause power save function dims the screen, not one to turn laptop off myself would rather lock it up and put it in sleep mode then it's ready to turn on again, only occasionally i re-boot it up

yeah every now and then it gives me a blue screen sayin smthn bout new hardware installation failed or smthn... and it doesnt have 2 be under a heavy load...cld b basic browsing on inet, doin music shit (heavy load) or jus sitting there idle...ill come back 2 it after sitting there like 15mins and its froze....

sometimes itll freeze right away after i try n do somethin...sometimes i can use it like normal for 20mins

in any case its not good to shut down a computer with the Power button. but do a backup asap, better safe than sorry. is it an old laptop?

Well, shutting it down yes - in a proper way like you should shut down you PC which is Start-> shut down. Not by pressing down the power button till the PC turns off.
