Let's start with these 2:
USB 3.0
It's 400 times faster than 1.1 and 10 times faster than the latest USB 2.0 (those that most of us get in last gen computers) and is able to provide more power.
Actually I think it's pretty revolutionary. It was introduced in 2008 but first devices came out this year.
It's backwards compatible with USB 1 and 2. First tests show that it's faster than e-Sata for external hard drives lol:

Bluetooth 4.0
It works sort of like wi-fi but allows direct connections like bluetooth and much bigger range. There are no big improvements over bluetooth 3.0 since it was only released last year and they are both relatively new. The nicest thing though is that 4.0 uses really just a tiny amount of power being able to work even on watches.
