Anyone suffer from this bitch? The last 2 months or so I've only slept like every other night, and when I sleep I only sleep like 3-4 hours before I wake up. It's really starting to mess with the rest of my life (school and social life) since I'm not exactly in great mental shape. It's funny, I can be dead tired all day yet as soon as I lay down to sleep I just get this feeling like I wanna get outta bed, up and do something and I can't sleep no matter how hard I try.
Anyone else gone through this? Any advice to offer?

Not to that extent. Try cutting out caffien (sp? wtf coffee n such) and maybe read a book til your eyes feel tired. Other than that I'd tell ya to go see a doctor and ask for more professional advice.
I guess I could go see a doctor, not too sure what they could do for me though. I don't even drink any caffeine except before my lectures so I can keep my attention up and I always try to "study myself to sleep". Problem is it makes me really sleepy but sson as I turn off the light and try to sleep, well my sleepiness is gone. Drivin me nuts.

8.10 AM now. Class at 12. I wanna break something :mad:

Yea i have that sometimes. But normally wat i do is i just put on my head phones and listen to some music till i pass out. Sometimes though i'll call up SiGh's girl and have her come over and tire me out.....
 
I have serious sleeping issues but not because of psychological issues but biological issues. My brain has difficulty falling into certain brain wave patterns so it tends to try and avoid rest or... skip it. So i have great trouble sleeping. Funny enough.. when i do get some sleep, my sleep cycles are extremely quicker since i'm skipping the brain wave pattern (or going into it for a much shorter time) and apparenly the less i sleep the less sleep i actually need.
Mind you this past week i've been working and training like a dog... and i'm like 8-10 hours sleep all up and i'm pretty bggered now.
I don't think you have insomnia though... u may have a sleeping disorder.. but insomnia is fucked up. trust me.... you may have fucked up sleeping patterns or sleep deprivation. The best solution for you (and i've done this heaps hence knowing what's wrong with me) go to a sleeping clinic and they'll hook all this stuff on you while you sleep. And from that they'll gather information on your brain and your patterns/cycles.

I've tried every solution under the sun (except sleeping tablets since i refuse to take them) and none of them have cured my insomnia. But i don't care. i get so much more out of the day.
 
I like going to sleep while listening to music. Something soft like classical music; I'd like, go to the library and rent all the relaxation/meditation collections, and just play them back to back till I fell asleep.
 
Not really insomnia but I have a very irregular sleep pattern. Like I can sleep for 3 - 4 hours a night for a week and then I sleep 14 hours or more for a while and it goes like that. According to my mother I have been like that always.

It's a bitch being tired all the time though.
 
avoid naps n shit through the day, if i sleep in the day i cannot get to sleep at night did it yesterday fell asleep at 4pm til 8pm, woke up didnt get to sleep til 8 this morning, when i cant sleep i just watch movies til i drp off, i worked it out i usually have a 14 hour day if i get up at 8am ill be asleep for 12 midnight, 6am be asleep for 10pm, its wierd cuz its always about 14 hours for me,go for a long walk or run, or eat some doo doo
 
I feel ya. I can be tired as fuck all day at work and when I get home and it gets around 1am I cant sleep for shit. To much stuff going on in my head. Tell the doctor you want some ambien. I tried it before and slept like a baby. You can get a sample on their site.

I've told myself I wasn't gonna take pills for this but it's 6.34 AM and I've just woken up from a restless 2 hour sleep and I'm pretty much willing to do anything to get a few full nights of sleep. I'll look into this.
 
Lol man, dont take som drugs for sleep off of what some people on the internet said, it might be some shit you'll regret. Go see a doctor, get a professional opinion and go from there:thumb:
