I'm moving out of my apartment and into another one this Friday (Nov 30). I'm only moving a mile away from my current location but this process still really sucks; I hate moving. I called my cable company and spent about 30 minutes on the phone transferring my cable/internet service to my new location. I got my utilities switched over, paid my soon-to-be landlord a security deposit and first month's rent. We signed the lease today and got the key and I think my two roommates are going to start moving in their shit tomorrow. I have to work at 630am tomorrow though, so I'll start moving my shit tomorrow afternoon. I also have to go to the Post Office and get my mail forwarded, hit up the DMV and change my address and then contact various places such as credit card, student loan, bank, et cetera to update my address. I can't wait until this shit is over and done with.
The good news is that the apartment I'm moving into is much nicer than the one I'm currently in and it has a dishwasher too which will be a godsend. I'm also right across the street from a pizza shop so there's a good chance I'll be too fat to fit through my new front door in about six months.
Also, my brother has been dating this girl for about 3 weeks and the apt we're moving into is right above hers which should make things interesting.
