Ice

I dont know what they call it over there. Translated from german into english it is scratch-ice. You know, its frozen, and you have to scratch the ice with a spoon in order to be satisfied.lol

I dont know ice lollies.

Edit: Shut up Kareem

i think the evil german means italian ice / slushies / snow cones ...flavored ice shavings.

i'll add that ice itself is a satisfying meal. plain ice that is. chewing it is oh so fun and swallowing ice cubes whole and then feeling the arctic chill in your stomach in a 90 degree room can be exhillerating.

Aye, the ignorance!

scratch-ice = Italian ice

when sold in stores, it tends to be much harder and needs to be "scratched" away with a spoon to be consumed. when sold in shops such as the Rita's chain (or by you friendly neighborhood ice cream man), it's much softer and can simply be scooped.

Cherry is the best :thumb:

And a gelati has no cream. It has custard (soft ice cream). Typical gelatis have four layers (bottom to top: Italian ice, custard, Italian ice, custard).

...but isn't custard cream or cream-contaning? while gelato is mainly water based, i think there's cream in it.

for the ice shit that breal is discussing, cherry is hands down the clear favor. anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.

I've only had cherry and lemon, and well, lemon takes the crown.

Yes, custard is a cream, but I viewed the use of "Cream" as somehting else, though not entirely different.

And a gelato is not water based. Italian ice is, but a gelato has four distinct and independent layers of Italian ice and custard. They don't mix.

Hopefully this picture works:

The gelati is to the far left. As you can see, the custard is on top of the Italian ice.
