I got Oink and uh

1) since when was flac the thing to be? mp3 > *.
2) why won't winamp play those flac files?

3) is there some way to kill the standard of flac?

i don't really care about answers to those questions really, this thread is more about why the hell people would choose flac over mp3. preference wise.

FLAC is lossless (unlike mp3), but still offers better compression than other lossless formats. People on Oink! are picky about all that stuff.

Winamp should play FLAC files.

Yeah, it's so frustrating. I just convert the FLAC's to WAV if I'm that picky about it. I got a really rare Nirvana bootleg on OiNK with Kurt and Courtney singing duets on "Pennyroyal Tea" and "Where Did You Sleep Last Night", but it was in FLAC. I just converted it.
