My fiance recently baught a honda accord 99, for $4,000, cuz the guy was a broke dude. Very nice int. sound system, and nice body.

It runs fine and everything but a question i have is that, after the car has been sitting for some time, (more than a few hours) the car has a ruff start, (Small jerk) when you press the pedal.

the pedal is stuck, almost like its on the floor of the car. Imagine pushing on a thin-iced stuck pedal.
But once it runs for a block, its fine.

The check engine light is NOT on, but the Maintenance Required light is on.

I had a mechanic quickly look at it, and the only thing that ''seemed wrong'' was that the *i forgot the name of the wire* was loose, and that is the thing that keeps the acceleration.

What can possibly be the problem? (Cant afford a diagnostic right now)

Oh, and we recently got an oil change, Penz. 10-30 bulk

the throttle cable? get someone to check the throttle body too. because if its dirty it can get stuck. if it is buy some throttle body cleaner

yah, the throttle cable. just some lube? sounds better than replacing anything...

but, i knew there was something wrong before it started happening cuz of the poor gas economy, and usage of alot of oil in that 99 honda (115,000mi) compared to mine 96 honda (250,000mi)

regardless of the problem, great deal?
