An HIV-positive man who admitted having sex with his 8-year-old stepdaughter over a two-month period was sentenced in a San Mateo County courtroom today to 16 years in prison.

Frederick Torralva, 53, pleaded no contest today to one count of engaging in three or more acts of substantial sexual conduct with a child under the age of 14, the San Mateo County district attorney's office reported.

He also pleaded no contest to the special allegation that he had knowledge that he was HIV-positive at the time of the crimes against his wife's child, according to the district attorney's office.

On June 27, the victim's mother left the family's San Mateo County home but quickly returned because she forgot her keys. When she re-entered the home, the mother found Torralva having intercourse with her daughter, the district attorney's office reported.

The mother confronted Torralva, who admitted having sex with the child three times.

Torralva, who had remained in custody in lieu of $1 million bail, was scheduled to appear in court today for the start of his jury trial.

Similar shit happened to a girl in my town. She's 24 right now, she went to my high school when she was younger. Last month she gave a lecture about AIDS awareness in our school theatre. And she told us about a man she met when she was 19 and the guy never told her that he was HIV positive. So now, she has AIDS and shit and the dude is in jail right now. Apparently he has done this to 7 women in his lifetime and their lives got fucked up as well.

If you inject it into them against their will then yeah. Or if they are unaware you have aids and think the needle is safe and you don't tell them.

It's a little bit of a different situation though as you are both being negligent to your bodies so i think you could only really be convicted if it was forced.
