how do i get rid of the history button the clock thing at the top of explorer so now one can see what i be lookin at

thanks 4 ur help... i no how 2 clear history but i wana get rid of the button 2!

Right Click > Customize > Click on History > Remove

They can just add it back, though.

the top 3 hav ticks next to em, the rest dont... they are all grey out except 'text labels' so i cant click em

Hmmm, there should be a 'Customize...' option at the bottom.

Try View > Toolbars > Customize...

SP2? I'm running out of ideas. If you're on Windows XP with Admin privileges and using IE6 then I don't know why you're not getting the same as me. This is what I get under 'View':
