Technology Help; I can't make the 2Pac Complete Live performances DVD look right on the PS3

First of all I'll admit I'm the complete opposite of tech-savvy, I'm tech-impaired, and with that disclaimer in advance:

I play the DVD on an HP F2304 LCD monitor ( HP F2304 LCD Monitor reviews - CNET Reviews HP f2304 LCD Monitor Review - PCWorld ) on the PS3 and the image looks stretched from the top and bottom everythings looks slightly longer and slimmer.

I guess I sort of I can't make the image go "wide" on the wide screen.

How can I make it work right?? I haven't tried it yet but I have a feeling my Wu-Tang Clan live at Montreux DVD will have the same problem.

while the video is playing, hit the triangle button the ps3 control. i think a few options will come up (zoom, normal, ???) then choose which best fits the scene.

There's no option for that, tried that already.
