my friend might sell his car soon and hes asked $3500 USD. its a black 1991 civic si. for looks it has 16 inch black wheels with chrome lips, a carbon fiber hood, and is dropped. interior, it has a type r knob, it has a gtech meter in the glove compartment and some racing seats. for sound it has a kickerbox that has two 12 inch speakers, two 6 by 9s, and some speakers in the door, all pioneer. and for the most important part, performance, it has a JDM B16A2, a GSR transmission, a recently installed stage 3 clutch (not sure the brand), a cai, and a straight pipe. ive driven the car and it pulls pretty hard past 5000rpms once it hits vtec. and thats when he had the stage 2 clutch that was slipping. the only bad thing the car has is that an axle might be damaged (maybe a cv joint) and the left door window handle is broken and the right window makes a noise when it opens. is this good? keep in mind ill be attending school like 15 minutes away, so ill need something reliable, and something that gets good gas mileage thats fun to drive.

it looks like this civic, but the body is black and the rims are black and chrome

please be respectful and dont put no imports suck or muscle cars suck. we have to many arguments on that.

Well too start off with if it had the camo paint helll no, hah. But it sounds like a decent deal, keep in mind CV joint alone will cost you around 250-300 I think. Also since he has done so much work to it, is it done right, maybe service records or something, or has he done all the work himself, then i'd be skeptical cus most people dont know what they are doin. Also how many miles does the engine have. You have to be skeptical with cars like this, you dont know how or what the previous driver did to it, but since he is your friend you might. I'd proably offer like 2750 or 3g.

he bought the car as is. the only thing hes done to it is take the catalytic converter out (himself) and get the clutch replaced at a garage. the mileage is 70k IIRC. the engine runs pretty smooth from what ive experienced though. it pulls from 5000 and taps the rev limiter smoothly. i gotta check out the engine bay myself though since ive never seen it.

i found a great deal online too. a crx with a b16 and black rims for 2500, but he lives in cali :(

Yeah you cant compare this car to other crx's this has a b16. Like i was sayin earlier, talk him down and also if the cv joint is going on knock that off the price for that too.

its an old car man...its not gonna last long, expecially with that fucked up axel. You'll get that fixed and find something else...i wouldnt. IMO, awful deal. But do whatever.

its old, but the drivetrain isnt. the engine barely has over 70 thousand miles, not sure about the transmissions and the axle. the axle is probably broken because of the lack of lsd and it gets wheel hop. i looked in an autoshopper and seen a 92 integra ls for $1800. ima check that out, see if i can get an LSVtec project going ;)

LSvtec isnt hard at all, for 1800 for the car is not bad plus you get to have fun and do the work yourself. Just dont go all stupid and put kits that arent painted and big ass spoilers for no reason.

As if Honda's don't last :)

And a CRX is a lot more fun than a Golf. V-Tec is teh l33tpwn

civics looks like bitches, i think. But whatever

yo, this better be a manual man!

i would find out how old everything is and all that... to me it doesn't sound like a great deal only bc of the CV joint. i had to replace that in my old civic and it wasnt exactly cheap or easy. plus i'm just not a fan of the hatchback. but hey do what you want, it's your money. try and talk the guy down some.
