Giving Serial Killers Day Parole

I know where you're coming from MX Red & I agree that everyone should have some basic rights - such as saying goodbye to their 'loved' ones.

That said, he stripped many women of their rights & I feel it is only just to strip him of his.

Strip him of his, yes. Strip his sister of hers...that's where the problem lies. On some level that makes us as bad as him.
 
Its such a hard line to draw, the guy is a true cunt - he gives the word meaning. Im glad i dont have to make the final decision, like you said he stripped so many others of that right why should we grant him them...there is just summin telling me if he didnt have that right to strip them of those rights - why do we? it doesnt make us any better - the idea of justice and punishment is a hard ethic.

Well while my opinion & course of actions has obvious areas of dubious morality, I could cope with that on my conscience so I am able to overlook that.

If others can't, that's fine.

But he stripped the victtims brothers/sisters/parents/friends for saying a final goodbye, in the same way, his sister should be stripped of her rights to see him.

anyone see the news today? That Nicholas guy overwhelmed the female cop, shot and killed 7 people in a church, then shot himself. Can they risk it on a guy that's already killed 13 people??? I don't think it's worth it.

It is not stripping her of her right. Her right to see him remains intact, yet because of her own circumstances, she is unable to do that in the only way it was possible (by her visiting him).

So when we catch a war criminal from Yugoslavia who ordered the death of 5000 civilians, killing the man's children would be okay becuase it's only a needle prick compared to what he did?

If I had subscribed to this I obviously would've said to kill the dude's sister - but I didn't. Thus your point is irrelevant.

Anyways, each case should be judged on it's own merits.

Of course you don't condone that. But that makes your pin prick comment irrelevant. Does it matter what he has done?

If he stole a car and was doing a 1 year bid no one here would object to the man visiting his sister. But because he commited heinous crimes people want to deny him that.

It's resentment.
 
Ok, got some up-to date news on this. Found an article paper in yest newspaper (which means im not sure if its 100% true), but it said that his family did not want to see him, and his sister especially. It said that they were trying to get on with their lives without him and even if he was released on day parole, did not want to see him.

So u guys stil think he should be let out to a family that doesn't want to see him??
 
Then it's no longer relevant. Most of us assumed that both Sutcliffe and his sister wanted the meeting, when the sister doesn't want it, it ends there doesn't it?
