Gas price!

Bill Mahr mentioned this in his show and it changed my perspective on gas prices. It's pretty obvious what he said but not many people, including me, consider it. Just think of the times before we had cars and the ways you had to get around. Next time you have to go on a half hour car ride, take the bike instead and see how far you get until you want to suck every oil tycoon's dick. Gas might be expensive compared to other products but when looking at the price-benefit ratio no one should ever complain.

You can take a bus or subway instead.
It's a benefit of living in the city.

Yeah sure:

"Sir, could you please stop at the next supermarket? I need some things and im not gonna use my car because of the fucking gas price. Oh yeah, and please wait till im back. Thank you."

That's the price you pay for living in a village. I reckon everything would be walking distance to you, but I don't know.

That's what I love Japanese cars for.
4l/100km and you can drive and drive.
Gas is expensive here tho - like 1.5 Euro (3dollars)/liter.

Yea but those small cars don't have much power do they? I dont know.

Here in states, people are all about big things. They want to show off and ride in big cars, the cadilacs suv's and expeditions and xl's. They travel a lot all around the country so they want their car to give them that power and stability and shit.

Whereas, in smaller countries like in europe and stuff, where there aren't long drives between the cities and shit, people are more wise and economic about cars. They don't care how big of car they are riding, as long as their car with get them from point A to point B.

First of all I said Japanese cars. Japan is not in Europe but never mind. European cars are quite economic too.

They DO have their power, actually most have much more power for their weight than American cars and use less gasoline. Americans have a lot of cheap gas so their engines don't have to be economic. For example when I'd buy a car I'd want quiet, economic engine so driving could be comfortable. Also smaller cars are much easier and more pleasurable to drive.

btw. for me any Toyota > any other American car if you said about "showing off". Most american cars are ugly and loud.
They don't look nice.

I gotta start doing the speed limit...I'm getting like 5 mpg :( Seriously should have done some research
