I broke the headphone off in the jack on my laptop and now half of it is wedged in there permanently, I tried everything to get it out other than taking it for repair, which I'd have to pay the Earth for because my warranty wont cover me.

In the end I had to buy a USB sound card from Amazon that will come on Monday.

What really takes the piss, my brother came over so I showed him what happened. As I demonstrated to him, I put the broken half with the headphones attached to it in the hole, and sound starts coming out the head phones.

Fucking Gay.

okay try this...

put super glue on the broken half thats NOT in the jack, place it back into the half that is in the jack, let it dry then pull it out. just like it was new again. this is only to get the half out seeing as they would no longer work.. just make sure u dont get super glue on the inside of the jack or you're fucked for life.

i spent 3 hours doing that. I havent got any super glue so ill have to go buy some, but ive read it several times looking for solutions online. I might give it a bash, because its fucked anyway, other than changing the card, thats the only way its coming out.

its ok for now though, like i said, i can still plug the other half in and sound comes out the left headphone, so i can cope. shame i wont be able to use the speakers on the laptop unless i get the other end out.
