From Tape to CD

My friend is in a band and they cant afford proper studio time to record their demo on CD, they only have it on tape.

What program can anyone suggest to use. Also i know a cable will be needed but i dont know where to begin.

Any help will be appreciated.

They are gonna need an RCA to mini[if you have a thin connection at the end that's about 1/8"], or RCA to 1/4", or RCA to XLR. Also, For the software, use Cool Edit Pro and make sure you use Dolby NR and some sort of Mastering Limiter Plugin.
