Fresh Start

So i'm finishing up working for my company as there's been an organisational restrucrure, and i'm gettin evicted since the landlords are selling the house and rather than be all shitty about it i got extremely excited.
I've decided i'm going to move out of the city and start fresh. I'm thinking of moving to the Gold Coast or Brisbane and start doing something about a few business ideas i have.
First trying to find a full time job, then find a house.. and hopefully by the end of the year or beginning of next, i'll be a vegas boy.


Mind you i'm looking at all my options (singapore, US, UK etc...) but i have my heart set on birsbane

So i was wondering... has anybody just left everything behind and started fresh? if so how did u go?

yep, done it when i moved away from stlouis to kentucky and away from kentucky to where i am now here in orlando. kentucky had its up and downs since i got put on probation but orlando has been cool im about to get my first degree soon.

i cant decide if i want to get out there and start working or still attend school full time and start working on my next degree

Why dont you stay near by and not waste money relocating if you're planning on moving again, this time to the states after a few months?

Ah, lol, I was wondering if there was a meaning behind vegas, cuz or else it wasnt logical.

But yeah, I've relocated many times and everytime its been hard. I hated moving around, but the places I stayed at, I didn't like it and the city just wasnt for me--workwise and everything too.

But if you move BECAUSE you got a job--then its alot better and easier.

I was young and had little work experience so it was kind of hard for me to get hired anywhere. For about half a year i did bullshit part time jobs and it sucked. Unless you got a job lined up or it will be easy for you to find work, I'd hesitate.

I felt like I left something behind when I went from Elementry to High School, then High School to College. It was a sudden change, and it took some time for me to adjust (being in a new school, away from people I know, etc). Every time I went to a new school and entered a higher grade, meant that it was a fresh start for me.

see i agree with what you say.
but i don't intend on moving until i have a job secured there. And finding a place won't be too hard at all (i intend on having everything set up for me there before i move).
So i'm researching and applying for jobs, doing phone interviews and once i have enough interviews lined up, i'll fly up and have an 'interview day' with all the different companies.
Plus i already have 2-3 nightclubs who are interested in my night job business who have already made offers, but i have no intention of moving up there until i am certain that my career (day job) is back on track.

Well she is the reason why brisbane will be chosen over goldcoast. but either will do
All depends on the job i find.

I've been speaking to Family and Monestry nightclubs in brisbane for my business but Elsewhere and platnuim in goldcoast are keen on me too. I have great plans for Family if i get them on board.
So the next few weeks is just me studying ideas to make a big enough statement to sell my ideas.

Do you do promotions or what, thats what I'm getting into now where I'm at, but for Hip-Hop clubs. Eventually I want to own my own but thats probably in the distance. i just watched AND1 mixtape tour in Brisbane, place looked crazy I would love to live there.

i currently have no speakers on my comp so i can't tell u, but i'll find out for ya.

Currently in melbourne i help run a few nightclubs as well as work with promotion companies to get the most out of what they do. I manage a band down here as well that do chicago house with a little breaksy latiny feel to it and also work with a few DJ's to self-promote themselves.

Wha ti have planned for brisbane is bigger and better things. I do intend on starting my own promo company up there but that's not what my business ideas are about. It's something with a little bit of a twist.
All the clubs in brisbane are doing promotions inhouse but what i want to be doing soon enough is running nights there for them getting some exciting dj's. As well as this i have plans to talk to a small stylish club to start my own night which is different to what brisbane is used to (a touch of melbourne up north).
I intend on doing the same for Family which is a 2100 capacity nightclub. But being a bigger club it'll be much harder. Last night i came up with the perfect strategy to re-invent the nightclub and give it the image they're looking for.
I enjoy working with dance/house/electro clubs more because i can control my crowd a little bit more. But i can project the image that i want the club to give much easier than r&b/hiphop clubs. What tends to happen in r&b/hiphop clubs are that you attract alot of people that think they're gangstas. I think it's a little hard for me to describe.

What has happened in melbourne is that every man and his dog has started a promotional company so the clubs just don't care about it and don't value them as much anymore. Some have succeeded because the promo companies have done their homework.
I'm still teaching myself heaps and have been speaking to heaps of people to get a better idea of everything. You have to really suss out the scene, study the market, have the right personality, constantly train yourself.

I moved from a East Malaysia when i was 11 to Aberdeen City In Scotland and then to Edinburgh (capital)straight after i graduated..

it was the best decesion i made, i made new friends and i got a good job.. but after 4 years of that i decided to travel so left my job and went to South East Asia.

Now i am in Hong Kong been working for the past 5 months, and i want to seriously LIVE here.. i found the transition so REWARDING, its not easy,, but it great character building, and you really treasure your new friends you build a bigger Home in the world my sense, because now i have three homes now aberdeen, edinburgh, and now Hong Kong..

i highly recommend it anyone that wants to try relocating and starting a new life, its not that you forget your past you just EXPAND your life..

what do u mean "it goes slow"?

Well i use to own a house back where i lived and now im in an apartment. Just looking for the right house, its a bit more expensive here than back home so plays a deciding factor. All things take time, rebuilding a core of good friends in a new city is another thing, its a slow building process but its worth it in my opinoin i have met some really great people and seen some really lovely places to live, now i just got to get my money right to get into these places, and thats a slow thing but in due time.
