Four years after 9/11

Four years and I wonder if we are any different because of it. There is a school of thought that says it is small changes over time, not big events that shape the direction of society. Yet I have studied politics at university for the past four years and the foundation of the topics and subjects were all related somehow to 9/11. It has changed the dynamics of society as far as I can tell, if only in a political sense, although somehow I think it extends further..

I think society has definitely changed over the past four years. Not for the better, either.

4 years later and I don't feel any safer today than I did that day.

^So, you don't feel like you're in danger, but you don't feel safer than on September 1st, 2001? I'm curious, because safety is not something that can neccesarily be measured.
