TOKYO - Stock in Japan's Toyota Motor Corp. and Ford Motor Co. jumped overnight on news that their chief executives met recently, but analysts Thursday said ties between the two were likely to be limited to Toyota passing green technology on to Ford.

The good thing about this is that it shows that Ford isn't butt-hurt about being passed by Toyota, unlike GM (once it happens, based on news reports). I'm really tired of all of the bullshit statements made by GM execs and their stupid commercials saying "better than Honda, better than Toyota" (although it only refers to their warranty and is strictly a commercial played only in Southern California). While I would love for Honda and Toyota to strike back with a commercial saying "better reliability, mpg, reviews, etc. etc. etc. than Chevy," they'll hit them where it hurts... in sales and in profits.

isnt pontiac still GM, i saw one the other day in my shop (i think it was a pontiac Vibe) with a toyta 3.3L in it...

hopefully ford will make up for their mistakes. it seems like they just keep fucking up.
