Croatian football fans 'used Nazi symbols' during matches
Nov 5 12:53 PM US/Eastern
Croatian police were investigating reports Monday that fans of local football club Hajduk Split sold and wore T-shirts bearing Nazi symbols.

The Hajduk fans were "walking proudly in Split wearing T-shirts reading 'Hajduk Jugend,' a direct allusion to the 'Hitler Jugend'," wrote the Slobodna Dalmacija reported.

The T-shirts, sold on the fans' website www.torcida.org, depict an eagle carrying the Hajduk coat of arms in its claws, which the daily said replaced the swastika in the Nazi version.

"We will check those reports to establish whether the law has been broken," Marina Kraljevic Gudelj, a police spokeswoman in the southern town of Split, told AFP.

A Croatian football association spokesman said the governing body had no knowledge of the case.

Under its Nazi-allied Ustasha regime, hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Jews, anti-fascist Croatians, Roma and others were killed in Croatian concentration camps during World War II.

Look what you support!

All Eastern European Ultras have some neo-nazis in em. As does Crvena Zvezda and faggot Partizan. lol.

Hajduk is going through a fucked up period now, especially with the mafia having control of who starts...sadly.

I still support em and Torcida though.

The white bird for Hajduk has been used for a long time. Hence why we're called the 'Bili' .. we also used confederate flags, doesn't mean we're psychos that lynch blacks. It's used as a metaphore that we're the south.

This is just another media thing to make all of Croatia look like Nazis, which they have been doing for a while. Why don't they go bother InterMilan (Italy) or Espagnol (Spain) or Krakow in Poland.

lol...

what I find funny is that they don't attack communist groups for having Stalin shirts.

My group's name is "Red Army"... We are left wing oriented, but we only use communist national heroes on our flags...

Red Army = Stalin.

^^ Actualy it's Red Army because our teams colors are Red... and the team was created by workers... so... it's like a metaphore if you will for communism and the team's colors...

Torcida's 'secretary' lol, commented about the t-shirt. His reply was simple: 'Hajduk has always leaned a lil' to the right, but this isn't about Nazism.. it's just a nice design and witty line, that's all'

^^ 1/4 of Torcida are Communists, that's whats funny about it...

All of my older friends in Split are commie oriented and they are pissed off that the president is a fascist and refuses to have Hajduk shirts with the red star and commie stuff on it.

There's something new to me. Most I know hate the star since we call Zagreb the new Beograd. LOL.

You find every kind of people in ultras, even chicks with dicks

^i ment the red star as the communist symbol, and the che, and the hammer and so on.

Torcidas leaders refuse those even if theres a notable amount of left winged Torcas in the group.

As with the Red Army, we decided to be apoliticized since the beggining of the millenium. We kept the name and the symbol as part of the tradition, but we decided not to be sponsorised by any political party.
