im thinking of wearing a black suit with a light light pink shirt and no tie to my school formal.

is this a good idea?

would it be better with a pin stripe suit?

Dont go with the pink shirt. Its a fad, you'll look back on your photo in 5 years and say "what the fuck was I thinking?"

Go with someone elegant, classic and timeless. Trust me. Think 30's Mafia, that never goes out of style .

^^ i would like to, but i am SO out of pocket right now. i dont have a job, so ill be basically leeching off my parents. which reminds me i have to get a large amount of money from them for my schoolies trip coming up

what colour shirt would you recommend? red? dark green? lime green?

im not doing black this time because i think it's too boring. maybe i should get a tie? hmm

red is fantastic (when you want to stand out) if your wearing something on top of it. esp a black jacket.. use black or grey tie to tone down the colour if your going to be taken off the jacket,.

also Purple is pretty slick too, and thats better becos it looks good with the jacket on or off. no tie with that one needed

I don't care what the style is...my b.f. won't be wearing pink. Looks nice on some ppl...but I'd say go with Rukas' idea...something classic instead of something that's only in style for now.

Rukas has the most obviously right answer. Why would you want to wear pink? I can't stand it when guys wear pink. It... uh... doesn't work, no matter what else they put on with it.

I went on a boat cruise this past summer, and the "suggested" dress code was pink and white. And shit... more GUYS wore pink/white, then chicks...

why not wear a suit and a white long sleeve ? its formal enough for school, but on the other hand casual enough to feel comfortable if you dont like ties etc.
as for the colour of the suit.. grey or dark grey.
