Where's the section on opposable thumbs?

What are apes then? Do they make a conscious choice to eat flesh? Or are they supposed to be herbivores too? They are also cannibalistic, so my next delightful meat may in fact be Human Flesh.... ;)

I read the bit below. And he addressed apes. But... I don't agree on all his points, at all.

I do feel that modern man eats too much meat though. And I have tried to address that in my diet.

Can someone explain the concept of organic fat-free milk? I think we're mistaken to believe organic means natural, right? Organic just means basically there's not shit ADDED to food. But doesn't milk have fat naturally? So if you use chemistry to strip fat off of milk, how is that process organic?

Organic just means it's derived naturally. There is nothing synthesized (artificial) added to it. Treating it artificially might not be the same. I'm not sure how the fat is taken out of it, but I think it might be using a machine that simply separates the fat from it. If using a machine in the sense I just described is how it really is done and is seen as unnatural, then pasteurization would be inorganic as well.

Organic has a strict process to ensure chemicals aren't used. I personally always try to buy organic whole foods as my issues are with chemicals and GM.

I like meat, but I'm not really at ease with the whole eating animals thing. I will however only buy locally sourced meat that has been treated humanely.

Sadly there aren't strict/enforced approval processes that have to be met in order for something to be labelled "organic". Therefore there are still occasions where companies mark products as being organic simply in order to sell them for a higher price. Thankfully all-in-all that's the minority, but you are always best off doing your research and avoiding certain manufacturers. For example, I would never, ever buy anything from Nestle or any company they own.

Did you know Nestle owns Deer Park and Poland Springs water? Wtf. And Nike owns Converse. Adidas owns Reebok. GTFO. Everything is everything now.

What's wrong with Nestle? I associated them with relatively healthy food, compared to most other companies selling junk. I know people who work for Nestle and they boast about their company being so healthy and environment-friendly.

Nestlé won a global internet poll for the world's "least responsible company." First, they changed the name of Nestle Quick to Nesquik. If that wasn't enough (it was for me), they promoted cow's milk over breast milk in poor countries.

/\ bahahahahahahahahaha!!

Nestle is one of the most socially and enviromentally unfriendly corporations on the planet. They've repeatedly violated trading standards for basically acting like a drug pusher with their baby fornulas in third world countries, paying doctors and nurses to push their formulas and "donating" just the right amount of formula to poor African women long enough for their bodies to stop producing breastmilk, they promote their formula as a healthier alternative when it is actually not.....they are the largest contributor to the death of 1.5 million babies every year

Most of their chocolate and coffee comes from child slave labour. Their bottled water business destroys countless natural springs by building huge production facilities on them and then making the land toxic. They then sell the land and leave locals to deal with the problem and go do the same thing elsewhere. For years they purchased milk from farms operating directly under Robert Mugabe's regime. They are one of the main contributors to rapid deforestation in countries like Borneo. That deforestation is literally destroying the planet and contributing to the damaging of the ozone layer and global warming, not to mention contributing to the extinction of several animals. There are animals on the endangered species list purely because of Nestle's actions.

They tried to bully Ethiopia into repaying millions of dollars in debt while the country was famine-struck. Yet their disgusting business practices are a large part of why countries like that are unable to sustain themselves economically. They make strategic PR statements about modifying their business practices but their actions don't follow through, it's purely to try and placate people and it make it LOOK like they're changing their ways, which is probably the standard PR spin that the people you know who work for them are blathering about. They steal ideas from independent companies, and then use their billions of dollars to sue the original inventors into oblivion. When people set up sites with information about why you should boycott them, they sue them too.

They are the most boycotted company in the world for good reason. A few years ago a leading ethical consumer ratings site gave them an overall score of 0.5/20.

That's not how I understand it.

All the major companies are merging. Airlines, Media, Music....

It gives us less choice and them more power. I thought there was supposed to be a monopolies law.

When I was doing my engieering apprentiship I was on a scheme with several Nestle employees as they have a large facility near Heathrow. They were complete morons and fell far, far behind us in terms of work. As did most companies actually. Which is why British Engineering has fallen the fuck off. We used to be Engineering leaders. Now we are pathetic.
