The document appears to cement the rapper's announcement to a Detroit radio station in December that he would probably remarry his daughter's mother, who he divorced in 2001, the Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday.
But information on the wedding is elusive.
Rumors are circulating that the wedding will take place Saturday somewhere around Detroit, but Eminem's camp isn't releasing any details. Under Michigan law, the license is good for 30 days.
Eminem has roots in the Detroit suburb of Warren, but a spokesman for the mayor told the Free Press police had not been notified of any imminent big events. However, spokesman Dennis Champine added, he wouldn't reveal any secret wedding plans by the famous former resident -- even if he knew of them.
