I find the Office to be often downright unfunny. Wilson's character and the weird relationship between him and that Jim dude is one of the better aspects of that show, however.

Carrel is a good comedy actor and can be quite hilarious, his character on the Office is just embaressing, though. The things he does aren't funny, they make me uncomfortable.

One of the major elements behind The Office (UK)' humor was indeed that it made viewers uncomfortable when they'd watch David Brent speak, because what he'd say was often embarrassing. I find that an effective comic tool.

Never saw Office UK. I don't like the "embarassment" humour. Saying stupid shit and then having all the other characters look at you funny isn't my idea of a ripping good laugh. But whatever floats your boat.

Well, it's not just that. For example, in the US, the office is immensely popular because of Dwight's character and his "witty" lines.

Yeah, Dwight is the best character from the show. Although every once in a while I let out a good ring of laughter at that Stanley dude.
