Driving Test

In Victoria you have to rack up 120 hours of driving before you can even go for the test.

^How do they keep track of that? Do you have to drive around with an instructor?

You have to fill out a log book. Each time you drive, how long you drove for, if it was dry/wet, day or night, the kilometers before and after you drive, the registration number of the car and the phone number of the instructor at the time, if it was mum, dad or whoever.
Before you can go for your driving test you hand the log book in and they go over it for a minute or so.

cant you just easily make that up though? or at least some of it - and say you did more hours than you actually did.

Its hard to make it all up and look believable.. most people just copy off someone else. Still a pain in the ass to fill out though.

yea its good when they are harsh on you in the lessons and tell you off, because it keeps you in line. otherwise you'll be shocked when you find out the mistakes you make in the actual test.

this is exactly it. i got bollocked for hitting a curb in my lesson once while parking. and she, my instructor was all at me like 'you would fail for that!', her attitude kept me in line all the way through
