Okay, I know someone out there somewhere knows a cheap alternative to buying books from the bookstore, anyone in college knows how expensive books from the bookstore can be and I need another alternative to buy my books for school, any suggestions I would really, really appreciate :D

Go to your school librairy (or someone from your class), they have a lot of students' books and make photocopies of the pages you need...even of the entire book, fuck. Printing at my schools free, ppl do it all the time.

I buy second handed books, actually I'm going to buy mine tomorrow. Try to contact people who already took the subjects you're going to take now, that's really useful, they can also tell you what the professors are like, if their exams are difficult, etc. :D

I don't like photocopies, they end up being even more expensive than the book itself. And as they are illegal in the library at my college they don't do them :(

I'm telling you, i did it last year, your teacher has extra books, ask them to use them. One teacher found out about a situation i was going through and he was nice and gave me a book so i can focus my money on hospital bills, but then i got the idea to ask the rest of my teachers and they all had books for me, shit was tight. Also used books or whatever work too.

yea thats cool if you like to be a thief. its illegal to copy more than %10 of a book.

i never really found usefulness in textbooks,i think its a waste of money.I went through my years of engineering without using any one of my textbooks. After the first year i stopped buying them,no not because im a cheapass, but because i didnt really need them. And on top of that i was carrying lots of extra uneccessary weight.

why is there a "." in the thread title? WHY!? okay i never really ask you stuff but this fucking annoys me, JUST TELL ME WHY DAMNIT. if you don't i'm sure i can come up with some sort of way to hurt you. WHY!?

PuffnScruff thank you as well :D Those two sites are really helpful, on half.com, i see my business law textbook for only like $10 and it's $178 in the bookstore!

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much guys!

Oh yeah, do you guys know how long it usually takes for them to ship?

i'm not sure on shipping. there is a local e-campus.com store near U of K here so i would just go by there. the company has alot of stores popping up across the country near big schools, so i would guess it shouldn't take more than a few days.
