The Illuminati did engage in mystic practices and rituals (many brought to the group by Knigge) but they were nothing more than a hobby for him. He and Weishaupt were atheists. There's no link between the Illuminati and Satanism.

I would assume that any mystic or spiritual rituals performed by the Illuminati were done so to add mystique, probably the idea of Knigge. Adam Weishaupt's vision and the purpose of the Illuminati suggest (to me at least) that Weishaupt wasn't the type to buy into spiritualism.

There are different views and definitions of enlightenment. The enlightenment Weishaupt proposed, influenced by the Age of Reason, was through knowledge. The Age of Reason was a move away from mysticism, superstition and religion.

i'm not about history .. i'm just a simple guy...
so what i understand from all of this is that .. there are some ppl with some money and some good thoughts and they are controling the world .. and that they give the world the image that they are doing that thourhg amarican government .... :S ..

what i want to ask you ppl or them or anybody who reads ... what is so powerful about them .. they use dirty ways ,, they work in the dark,,, they are not gangstares .... they are ppl who work in the dark to gain more money or more power whatever.....

i said it before, spirituality is not religion, superstition... the idea of right and wrong was discussed a lot by Kant. The authors of the age of reason focused a lot the fact of using kowledge in the right way and sharing it.

Mysticism is not about magic or satanic rituals, it's merely a way of reaching a certain level of awareness in ordert to understand how life works.
The illuminati and the free masons use those rituals, even though only the grandmasters (32,33 rd level) actually understand what they mean and how they work.

illuminati's goal is to create a new world order (as far as we know)... if you think about that, what could be more spiritual?

i define spirituality as a state of internal awareness by which one can understand the origin of life.
spirituality is not about knowledge because it's internal and incorporal, whereas knowledge is always given by an outside source

Spirituality, ie the way to enlightenment, can be accomplished with different ways, such as action, devotion, or by practices means to increase one's inner awareness and energy, a variation of which is used in illuminati rituals or even in islamic prayer and pilgrimage.

Initially, the idea of God, and the main argument for its existence, is the idea of creation of life. This is why i guess spirituality was associated with religion.
