Technology Dead Island (zombie game)

Video is AMAZING. Game seems like it'll be a mix of L4D series and Dead Rising series.. 4 player co-op.. option to create melee weapons, open world environment, etc. Graphics look soo good. This was being speculated about FOR YEARS and is finally due out this August.. I can't WAIT!

The game is being developed by a small team at Techland, a part of them is a group of my friends two of which study with me. Techland is a relatively small Polish video game company.
I believe that one of these said friends was working on that video. At first he was sometimes harassing me about "oh look at this cool model I've made - I will do this and that with it and that'll be pretty cool" and I was like "yeah, right maybe later". That was because there's another major at our uni called "New Media Art" - they do all kinds of computer animations and I've seen more of their works than I'd like because of other friends bombarding me with their projects.
However I was really impressed when I first saw the video. I didn't know that it gets so much fame abroad though.

The game Dead Island was "in development" for YEARS unfortunately. I remember hearing about this waaay back in like 2008. It kept being picked up by dev companies and dropped. Either way.. it's amazing that someone is finally going to make it. I think the reason it gets so much attention here is that inexplicably easily offended by everything americans are shocked at the child dieing. It looks like it'll be a great game though. Out August of this year.. supposedly.. I can't wait!

Well, I just heard that from this trailer, a movie company snapped up the rights to make the movie version of this game.

its just a trailer, and ill see what the game is like when it comes out before i buy. could be just another Dead Rising which was a decent game but annoying.

Dead Rising 2.. is a fail. It has such potential.. but his slow jog and the long wait on save... makes me extremely annoyed. I need to complete the game at least though.

^^yea that was a big problem with the original. the actual game was ok but it just took so long to get anywhere in it. the save system was a disaster.

Yeah, they kinda fixed that but created a new monster. So, there are multiple places to save now, which is good. BUT you have to rescue these survivors... and there's only one location to take them to, which is the original save spot. Kinda the exact same thing all over again. >.< Not to mention they're just as slow (if not slower) than your own character. That... and the psychopaths are near impossible to beat.

^^yea anything involving escorting NPCs in a video game is usually tedious.
