has anyone else here heard of him?....the past couple days on tv they've been showing what a day in the life of David Blaine is like....he is a magician who walks around doing magic tricks for random people on the street...but his entertaining goes a little bit deeper than that...in my opinion he is trying to be a modern day houdini...is this guy the real deal or is it just for show...cause i've seen some crazy shit... so has anyone else heard of him or seen him and is he the real deal or is he just another fraud

What do you mean "the real deal?" He's a magician. That's an entertainer. Magic is all tricks. Houdini was a contorsionist who was double-jointed. Blaine doesn't even do those physical escape stunts. He's not a fraud; he's just a magician. And I can levitate off the ground too.

b. He's a magician, so by definition he's not "the real deal".

I don't like his reliance on camera trickery (the second part of the levitation stunt) and complicated machinery (the big magnet thing that makes watches stop/go backwards). I also don't like the way he portrays himself as a 'street magician'. His charisma, distraction skills and sleight of hand are very good though.

yeah I used to think he was the real deal also, he freaked out some natives of some island before he even did a trick!

but afterwatching the maked magican show on "Street magic" it showed how he dose all the shit he dose (well not all of it but enough to know he is just like the rest)

great Entertanment if you want to believe what he is doing is real!
