Technology Converting to something to play on a DVD Player?

My movie file is in .mpeg

What do I need to convert to, to be able to play the movie on a CD-R in a DVD player? Also, what is the program called that is used to do that?

^Before I say I love you, does that mean I can burn it on a normal CD on a normal burner, and play on a DVD player?

if u wanna burn it 2 a dvd disk u need 2 convert it. i use winavi converter,it converts it to vob format. then u use a burning prog to put it on the disk, pretty easy once u figure it out. the above videohelp link should tell u all u need.

It depends on your DVD player. If your DVD player plays cd-r VCD's then yes you can.

can u burn dvd's?? or have u just got a cd writer?? whatever ya answer is ,thats what you can burn!!
