Technology Comp Freeze

Yea lately my computer has been actin up, i think ever since i dled the updates for spy sweeper(anti spyware progam) and windows update on the same day, then i had to restart my computer cause of the update, but my computer failed to restart properly so i had to shut it off and im not sure if that would affect the update of the 2 programs, but ever since then, when i had to start up my comp, id sign into my acc and let it run, but after i started up my comp, it would freeze after a all the programs were done starting up. so can any of u tech experts tell me whats wrong?

you know I had this same problem, not with the spyware, but after the windows update, my computer went up shit creek. I fixed it by restarting and pressing F8 and selected "last known good configuration", been ok since.

thanks for the help but i tried pressin F8 at boot up and nothin happened, so mind tellin me what else i could do?

you running XP? Some low budget PCs are commercially branded with boot up screens, so the boot menu may be disabled or been assigned another key.

You tried F8 and it doesn't work? That can't be right... It should
you press it just before the XP loading screen starts

Go into safe mode and do a system restore, if it still doesn't work get a XP disc and do a repair
