After being dropped from Arista Records due to poor album sales from I'm Serious [citation needed], T.I. formed Grand Hustle Records with his longtime business partner Jason Geter and this was the first album released on the label. T.I. gained a lot of album buzz after appearing on Bonecrusher's smash single "Never Scared" and releasing mixtapes so he knew it was the right time to release this album. Today, some critics and fans considered this album a Southern Hip Hop classic[1].
It featured guest appearances by 8 Ball & MJG, Jazze Pha, Bun B & Mac Boney and production by Jazze Pha, Kanye West, David Banner, Sanchez Holmes & DJ Toomp.
T.I. went back to his Trap Muzik days and created an album called T.I. vs. T.I.P. which is also one of the tracks on the album. The album sold over 460,000 copies in his first week and was certified
