His question does hold some ground ^, why is it ik to kill animals to prevent an infectious disease but not humans with an infectious disease?

The difference is, we can kill animals and get away wtih it...*in this context* from a legal point of view... and usually, we have no problem morally. The universe is unbelievably huge....there can be life out there that is alot more advanced than us.. so it ok for them to take us and treat us like we treat animals? Just some diet soda for thought.

also, the dogs are not properly taken care of...they even said they have poor health care for the dogs, so its not like it's the dogs fault....quarantine the dogs? yes, do that... but club them to death? no..... the chinese have been watching too many de niro and pacino movies if that's the way they feel is the solution to the problem...

i was using rhetoric....the problem, as far as the article says, is rabies... if someone is bit by an animal, do they not simply go to the hospital and get the shot?? regardless of how painful and where they put the shot, it's a rather simple thing...instead, give it to ALL the dogs....

Would you rather have stray dogs given rabies or would you rather have your hospital funded? You seem to forget that shots cost money, and unlike what we have in the west, dogs are just like other animals, they're no different than cows or pigs. With 1 billion people in the country and poverty is large areas of the country, i don't think they'd spend millions giving rabies shots to millions of stray dogs throughout china when they could use the money in better things.

edit: Just looked it up, most farm animals are stunned by either a bolt gun to the skull or electric stunners while fully concious, then hauled away to be bled to death.
