but i think in the US you could get DSL/cable for arround 30 bucks a month. I at least saw something a couple of times.

SBC Yahoo is having a special for one year of dsl for $14.99 a month. It includes the modem and cables for free. The speeds are between 384Kbps-1.5Mbps for downstream while 128Kbps-384Kbps for upstream.

aol is the devil. that shit fucks up ur entire computer. slows it down and puts in a bunch of spyware. this is why they don't have a stock anymore. go to www.nocharge.com and u can get free dial up

yeah its 15 bucks a month, i think u sign a year contract.anyways,yea no hidden fees.

the speed is 1.5Mbps

usually when you pay around 30 or 35 bucks for DSL with other companies you get 2.5Mbps,

so 1.5Mbps isnt that bad for 15 bucks

No hidden fees or anything like that. Go to their webpage and type in your phone number, it will tell you if service is or is not available in your area. 1.5 MBps is not bad at all. I get 60k a sec downloading which averages out to 470bps connection. I will be ugrading my connection to reach 1.5 MBps. I can't reach that type of connection because the lines in my house are very old and are about to be upgraded for the speed.

When i hover over my little connection thing it says "100.0 MBps" but i can only download at about 150 kb/sec. Do you know whats up with that?

thats not your internet speed. thats your LAN / router speed

you've got your lions crossed.

What you're seeing is the speed of your local network, not the speed of your connection to the internet. Also 100Mbps is 100Mega BITS per second which means you can transfer data at 100/8 Mega Bytes per Second over the network.

You need to ask what connection your server PC has to the internet if you want to find out your real net speed there.
