People are demeaning the purpose of the sytem by begging for rep points, bargaining for rep points and giving them out unnecessarily.
To paraphrase the discussions, the rep point system is supposed to run concurrently to post count as a means to benefit posters who substantially contribute to the board by way of standard and quality of posts.
Behaviour that compromises this such as begging for points etc, demeans the purpose by raising the rep count of people who dont deserve that reputation and who dont contribute in a meaningful way.
Now that the system has been in place for a while, we've all had a chance to play around with it, but it's time to do something about the people who are misdirecting it.
