Budgets, beat and guest appearance prices, and other industry stuff

Anyone got this sorta info? It's got me pretty intrigued.

Guest appearances can get pretty expensive, so can beats. I only know 2 examples:

Ludacris:
"Wanna know what I'm gettin for 16's?
Try 80 (thousand), want a discount?
Blow it out ya ass"

And Neptunes got $100,000 for producing the xcuse me miss RMX for Jay-z. I don't know about normal appearances/producers though.

I'm pretty sure I've read and heard people mention exchanging appearances to cut out the fees, and in some cases people do it for free like when Em gave beats to Nas, Jigga, Xzibit, etc.

BTW, I may have misinterpreted your reply but did you mean that there's a difference between a guest appearance and a normal appearance? If so, how do they differ?
