The new single from Bubba Sparxxx ‘Ms. New Booty’ is getting heavy air play from mainstream radio stations. This has angered some who claim that the song gives children access to pornography.
The song has been launched with a competition in conjunction with Girls Gone Wild that offers one lucky female to be included in the next Bubba Sparxxx video. To win this opportunity the contestants must submit a naked picture of their back side, or as Bubba Sparxxx would say, their ‘new booty’.
The song and subsequent competition, which is arguably aimed at the teenage market, has fired up activists who are seeking to put a stop to the promotion. The website for the song, www.msnewbooty.com, contains pictures of the submissions as well as links to the Girls Gone Wild website.
“The government fails to arrest these corporate child predators. The internet has pornographic sites, now radio directs children straight to X rated pornography,” said Paul Porter of Industry Ears, an online group of broadcasting experts dedicated to justice within the media. ”Station after station continue to play Virgin Record's rap star and watch it's pornographic links rise to number one on Billboards chart.”
