How many people experience these and under what circumstances?

To be clear, by a blackout I'm referring to waking up the following morning and not remembering everything that happened the night before while out drinking. They can be both mild and drastic. Sometimes you may remember everything except for how you got home or sometimes you may forget the whole second half of your night.

Different people respond in different ways. For example, I have friends that puke every single time they get drunk. Period. I have friends who rarely puke, but if they've had more than their limit, they will.

I practically never ever puke after drinking. But a good deal of the time, I'll forget what happened after a certain time. I know what my limit is. If I surpass that limit, that's when I tend to not remember things. It's extremely annoying. I would much rather just go home and throw up and remember everything clearly.

I'm not sure why it happens but I tend to think that it's really because once I reach a certain level of intoxication coupled with the fact that it's very late and I'm profoundly tired, I kind of just stand there in a semi-conscious state where I will respond if someone talks to me, but I'm really not fully awake. And since I'm technically not completely awake, I don't have any recollection of what happens during those times.

I've only really blacked out twice.

For me to black out, there has to be a large amount of alcohol consumed with minimum amount of food intake, spread over a large period of time (8 hours of more of continuous drinking). I'm rarely in those situations, though. It's much more common for me to drink too much in a short amount of time and throw up, as it happens...when I drink too much in a short amount of time. But, I'm pretty good at monitoring how much I drink so that I still get fucked up but don't end up throwing up. And I end up remembering most of the night. By most, I mean, even when you're sober, you don't remember everything.

Yea i have blacked out a few times. The worst was back when i was 18. i went on serious drinking session of beer, shots and whiskey one night. i actually thought i was going to die and i wasnt able to talk lol. i couldnt remember a thing the next day.

Ive only ever blacked out on an insane amount of weed.

Never from alcohol.

I've blacked out plenty of times.

On my 19th birthday I remember being at my house with 4 of closest friends barbequing and drinking (I was already fucked by this point) and it was like 8. Next thing I can remember is coming out of a black out, sitting on my friends couch about to sniff a line, looking at the clock and its almost 5am. Thats probably the worst black out I've ever had.

Most recent black out I had was 2 weeks ago. Woke up at 9:30 am on a couch in my buddies room with no recollection of how I got there, what we did etc. Last thing I can remeber is doing a tequila shot at the bar.

I hardly ever puke from drinking, no matter how much I have.

Blackouts. Blacksout. Blacks out? FUCK YOU.

Twice, once on mushrooms and my first time drinking.
