The ‘BET Uncut’ segment provided by Black Entertainment Television has been pulled from the air after a six-year run which bought great success and great controversy.

The decision came from BET executives, but an official statement has yet to be released from the company. The last episode of the popular show was hosted by Jermaine Dupri on July 9th.

The show carried a TV-MA rating under an advisory guide warning the content was unsuitable for individuals under the age of seventeen. This rating was deemed necessary as the ‘uncut’ dimension meant that the main content consisted of uncensored music videos from urban artists – most often containing sexually explicit content.

The show came under fire following the version of Nelly’s ‘Tip Drill’ video which depicted the rapper and his entourage frolicking with strippers. One scene sees Nelly swipe a credit card through the buttocks of a stripper which was quickly met with wide spread protest from African-American women’s groups, eventually forcing Nelly to cancel a performance.

An online petition has been set up demanding the return of BET Uncut.

This was definitely one of their better segments, along with all that Sunday Christian programming of course

they should have just gotten rid of that Sheryl Underwood bitch on Comic View. shes fucking annoying and stupid. she tried to diss one of the dudes on the show yesterday for a joke he made, liek she has any talent herself
