I also have to say WHERE THE FUCK IS BOB GIBSON?!?!

Bob Gibson is my pick, my second would have to be Satchell Paige.

Neither are even on the poll
it's just like a Yankees fan to ignore non-New York greatness like that :p

blame the 10-name limit option

but theres no way you can go against any of the 9 pitchers who did make the list

Yes, Gibson was amazing. One of the fifteen or twenty best pitchers of all time. But certainly not one of the best six or seven. You start with guys like Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Lefty Grove, Cy Young, Pete Alexander, Clemens and Randy Johnson, Warren Spahn, and there's a lot of names of guys who were better pitchers than Bob Gibson.

Career ERA+
R Johnson: 144
Clemens: 141
Gibson: 127

Cy Youngs:
Clemens - 7
R Johnson: 5
Gibson: 2

ERA titles
Clemens: 6
R Johnson: 4
Gibson: 1

Career Winning %
Clemens: .667
Johnson: .657
Gibson: .591

Gibson might not have even been the best pitcher of his time, I'd personally choose Seaver over him, and maybe even Juan Marichal (although that would be a stretch). in no way, shape or form does Gibson belong over the Big Train, the Rocket, the Unit, Pedro, Maddux or even Young

where the hell are bob gibson and nolan ryan on this list? sheesh

below the names of 9 better pitchers.

i wanted to add Ryan and Page, but decided to put the Other option. Ryan played too long past his prime (ie Texas), and Page's prime years are hard to really judge since they were in the negro leagues. he was a decent pitcher in MLB in his 40s, but obviously not as great as he was in the 1930's

my redo for best pitcher of all time:

1-Walter Johnson
2-Roger Clemens
3-Pedro Martinez
4-Satchell Paige
5-Christy Mathewson
6-Cy Young
7-Pete Alexander
8-Randy Johnson
9-Lefty Grove
10-Greg Maddox

why the hell would you bring this back up, 8 months later?? why??

and since i dont know grove walter, paige and mathewson, im just gonna say the best of my time right now, clemens
