Non-Urban Music Beck

Any Beck fans in the place? I love his work, I'm starting to get into him a lot more, previously I had only really heard the "Odelay" album - always loved "Devil's Haircut" and "New Pollution".

He just had a new album out (called "The Information") and I just peeped the single, "Cellphones Dead" I think it's called. It's tight as fuck and I will definately be copping the album. Anyone got the album yet? If so, how is it?

Haven't checked out his new album, or heard anything off it.

I have Odelay (classic), Sea Change and Guero. I need to pick up Mellow Gold.

Are Sea Change and Guero worth picking up? What do they sound like?

Guero was produced by The Dust Brothers, so it's typical Beck. If you like Odelay you'll probably like Guero. There's more of a Latin feel to some of the songs too. E-Pro was the first single, I think. Jack White plays bass on one of the tracks on the album.

Sea Change isn't; it's all acoustic guitars and string arrangements. It was about the break-up of his relationship. Very personal. Lost Cause is one of my favourite Beck songs, and

is fantastic too. It's a great album.

EDIT: The censored line in the Lost Cause video is "Waving your guns at somebody new", just so you don't get the wrong idea...

Guero = Odelay lite. There are some great songs on there, though.
Sea Change is basically a breakup album, 'nuff said. It's not quite as depressing as, say, Bitter, but it definitely fits a mood.

The Information is great. His best record since Midnite Vultures, maybe even Mutations. His rapping on it is probably the most tolerable it's been since "Loser"'s novelty wore off. I'm pretty enamored with it, actually.
