This shit looks fucking hilarious.

Basically this guy who works in a video store is magnetised and erases all the tapes but they can't afford to buy new stock, so they reshoot all the movies with a video camera...starring themselves lol. Like they do Robocop and Rush Hour and Driving Miss Daisy etc etc etc. Watch the trailer the shit is hilarious. Oh and the website is fucking dope too! I saw the trailer for this @ the amc in redmond (I think) in WA. Looked brilliant, but so did the rest of the trailers I saw.

unless this movie takes place pre 1997 or so, it makes NO SENSE. video stores switched over to DVDs somewhere around that time.

i know, i know, im supposed to just say but its a movie... I just cant get into movies that have such big flaws in their premise

It's not a flaw at all. It's a small, rundown, out-of-date video store that's going out of business because of DVDs and Netflix. There are plenty of old, local video shops that still rent out VHS tapes. Mostly to old people.

It's not like Michael Gondry hasn't realised that everyone's watching DVDs these days.
