As for the gold cost I have only been there once so your guess is as good as mine for what to do lol. If you're going to go out clubbing don't go out in broad beach it's pretty rough and gang orientated. Better off staying in surfers

I highly recommend Byron bay though that place is amazing! It's only about an hour and a half drive from the cost I think.. or you can fly straight there..You won't be disappointed!

How scary is the wildlife in Australia? All the poisonous animals (even the platypus can kill you, which must be one of the gayest ways to die btw.) always seemed pretty scary to me but I wonder how does it feel to be a newcomer there? Do you get to see snakes, spiders and shit and freak out often? Or is it like you see a single creepy spider once in a month and they don't care about murdering humans so much?
I only met one chick from Australia in LA and I couldn't understand half of the things she was saying. Not really, I got used to it but it was the hardest English accent for me to understand.
She was from a smaller town though and said that a couple of her dogs were killed by snakes in her garden, but people in Australia (outside of the few big cities) are used to seeing some creepy shit from time to time. So it sounded a little scary, I instantly imagined having to dodge scorpions on the beach and murder alligators with my bare hands if I go there.

Wimp.

Snakes are pretty meh. I've seen the death adder and a bunch of brown snakes close up, they are very timid; also held a number of pythons. Snakes aren't really an issue as they don't inject venom when they bite, it drips down the fangs... so if you get bitten by one and have thick clothing on (95% of the time at work) it won't even get on your skin, it'll just stay on your clothes and you will be ok. Worst case Ontario, you have a few hours to get some anti venom before anything really serious happens. Same with spiders, their venom ain't potent enough to kill a healthy adult. What you gotta be scared of is the box jellyfish.

I live and work in the bush and it's funny, if you know how to handle yourself it's the safest place in the world. Now cities, those things are fucking dangerous. And yeah, if it's a group of Aussie guys, between the slang, swearing and accent I still can't understand the conversation, and I've been here over 6 months.
