I think the problem in the middle east is that most people live in poverty and so when they learning about the islam and see what potential they got, they wanna do it quik. I could mention some great books here as well. Works by Nietszche for example, but I doubt you'd read them.

It's not about that. You need to learn what Islam actually is, because all you see is the hype surrounding it. You have never walked into a mosque. You have never seen the pilgrams.

In Karen Armstrong's "Islam: A Short History" and "Muhammed," she explains why there are so many myths about Islam in (especially Western) culture and a large misunderstanding concerning violence and religous teachings. She divulges into it's inner purpose and the effects.

And I am a philosophy major. I've read Nietzsche and I sort of believe his theories on Truth and relativism, however to me his skepticism totally misses the point of religion, and the REAL effect, which is so often missed (by people like you) in a world of globalized corporate media...
