My girlfriends razr just died (about fucking time, awful awful phone) and I wanted to give her my SE K800 that Im not using, but its locked to Three and they wont unlock it for me (basically because I didnt pay my last bill after they fucked me over with roaming charges for 2 services I didnt even sign up for but came bundled as a secret "bonus"), and shes on a different provider (Optus).

Any ideas?

it might be easiest to find some little cellphone business around you that unlocks it. i know some websites provide unlocking guides for a charge but i have no idea how trustworthy those are

Hmm here i know there are places that do that for you but i am not sure in Australia. I wouldn't be surprised if you found a place there too.
Other than that your best bet is google.

Theres so much shit on google I was hoping somebody knew a proven source or program. I might have to check out China Town later if theres a place to do it in my city its there ;)

^Yea dude here it costs like 20 dollars i am sure you can find a place there too.

It'll be the easiest way and you won't have to deal with shit.

Theres unlockers at every corner... you can do it on your own, its basicaly the card they put in your phone (In SEs its just behind the battery).

But ask a pro, its about 20$. Just ask around.

Ermm... LOL. You're talking about the SIM card? You dont know phones too well I am assuming. The SIM card is not the problem, and a phone being locked has nothing to do with the actual SIM card itself.

It is firmware on the phone that allows only one type of SIM card being used, from one service provider, so you cant get a new SIM card and change providers with the same phone. But the actual card is not what does this.

LOL @ you thinking "the card they put in your phone" is what locks it.
