Anyone had LASIK?

Im thinking of getting LASIK in the near future... anyone had it done?

What were the results... do you have to use one of those 'speaking' computers to post on SH now or can you now see through people's clothes?

I've had laser eye surgery, I didn't have Lasik (which I believe removes a flap from the cornea and corrects the eye?), I had PRK surgery which just involves the laser into the eyeball.

Difference between the two is that Lasik is much quicker to heal, while PRK takes a little while longer. I wasn't comfortable with the idea of having a knife near my eye, so I decided to zap it with a high powered laser instead.

It's the best decision I've ever made. It's not painful at all, the recovery period might be annoying, not due to pain, but the eye feels constantly irritated and you want to scratch it, but can't.

Eye surgery is just using a laser to correct the shape of the cornea. At first they had to cut your eye but now they do not. Eventually I will get it but my eye is still changing shape naturally. Once it stops I will get it done. A lot of people get it done way too soon and it's why sometimes they will still need glasses after the surgery

They do tests now to see if your eyes are right for the procedure. For example, my mother wanted it to get it but the Jew doctor didn't like what he saw and told her she shouldn't have it. He said my eyes were okay, so he lasered the shit out of them.

It's been about 3-4 years now, no regrets.

How long was the recovery period and do you remember roughly what it cost?

Ive seen prices here at around $800 per eye (for just LASIK)... not that Ill look for the cheapest,... Ill go with the guy who has the best reputation and they happen to be the ones who offer the best prices..

For PRK? I think it was about a week or two, but that was like 3 years ago so things might have changed. The technology is moving really fast and they always have state of the art shit every year. I know where I went they were baller as fuck, mofos even gave me coffee and bomb ass cookies.
The thing is, a good optometrist will do one eye at a time.
So you'll have one fucked up eye for a week, then it'll heal, and if everything is fine - he'll do the 2nd. It's just a precautionary measure.

I think I paid like 1200 per eye, might have been a bit more. Didn't want to go with some Guatemalan butcher that was offering the lowest price. I saved money for it for quite some time and it's still the best investment I've ever made. Once both of your eyes are perfectly healed you'll feel liberated. I know I had to wear my glasses all the time, and my eyes were way too sensitive for contacts, so the choice was a no brainer. Even after I had it done, I'd be like shit: "Where did I put my glasses?" out of habit.

Someone told me that when you get to 40 your eyes change, so you need to get it done long before. Is that true?

My father is in his mid 50s - he had it done when it first came out. He still doesn't use glasses for afar. On the other hand, he's starting to use them for reading.
So, it's very different for everyone. You can talk to an optometrist about that.

I had one eye more messed than the other. I can't remember what it was exactly, but it was close to your number on the right eye, the left was a bit more extreme.

Look into it, talk to your doc about it. It doesn't hurt.

First thing I did after my eyes were in top shape was buy a pair of asshole aviator sunglasses and give the first girl with a nice tush the gun.

It's never really come across my mind. I like wearing glasses, they suit my face. Plus they are in right now and I like to be trendy.
