Me and a friend are going at the end of August; she's been there before but when she was younger. Her cuzz lives out there too so we got travel on lock and discount at a bomb ass hotel.

My fam thinks I'm fkn bonkers and that ill get taken by terrorists - I assure them we wld get along nicely lmao

Where abouts in Egypt are you going?

There are parts which are very touristy such as Sharm El Sheik. But in August you are looking at temps of 40 C and up.

You'll be OK as long as you don't drink the water or breathe the air.

I went on a Nile cruise, which was great. Make sure you visit Abu Simbel at sunrise if you get the chance.

Yeah I think Egypt is extremely overrated lately though. It's cool to go sightseeing and all but it's been probably the no.1 destination for Europeans over the last few years. Which means shitloads of tourists and higher prices (still fairly cheap though but a few times more expensive than a few years ago).

Thanks for the info...well be stayin in Cairo. My brother keeps talking 2 diff Arabs that work on our paper route and they're all negative about it. They say its real krazy, cops roll up on u and jus tell u 2 get in the car wit they guns drawn...uhh women gotta wear burqas and walk behind me..I may get stoned for going wit a muslim girl, get my ass beat for talkin during prayer..uhm I forget what else lol

yea the guys kept perving on me. assholes.

nah it was ok. i stayed in a holiday resort in the north. it was mostly French and Belgian people there. i met a couple of tunisian lads. they were nice and friendly. we played football with them and one evening a load of the arrived at the nearby football pitch and we had a big game. we were the only white guys playing lol. some of them seemed like assholes though. they didnt seem too friendly.

there was a lot guys nagging you to buy something from their stall or store. all the shit was fake though i reckon. most of the time they were pretty harmless but i remember i walked to one area and the fuckers were really aggressive. all up in my face, pushing me around trying to intimitate me to buy their shit. real angry looking cunts. i actually felt frightened because it was only me and another guy. and there was also the incident when i ran inside some famous mosque with my shoes on :embarresd:

i also remember taxis everywhere and it cose about 2 euros to travel 30 miles. it seemed that every person in Tunisia drove a cab lol.

That's not my experience. But it depends where you are going. Egypt is a large country.

Ya I figure if that does happen its in the remote spots not major cities. My friend she took her american friend (girl) back home 2 Kuwait and she loved it so much she's in Egypt on her own in school.

I want to go to Egypt for a long weekend of Golf. It is cheap, and they have a PGA course there. But that is Sharm El Sheik.
