Yes. in the bosnian war and in the croatian war.

Bosnian until 93, went to croatia and about every city i went in, war started... when it started in Zagreb in 95, i told Yugoslavia to fuck off and went to Canada...

came here a month after, there was a referendum for Quebec's indenpendence...

i was born during the Lebanese civil war, , but i only remember the last parts of it between 88 and 90.

i was 8 at the time, i ve been through two wars in 1990: the war between the christian militias (the cancellation war between the the dissident army and the lebanese phalanx forces) and the war between Syria and the army (the liberation war).

I don't think the war with Israel qualifies because it's just random bombings and collective punishment, and the ground fighting is restricted to the south.

gang and guerilla wars are just crazy. because you have no idea what's about to happen at any second. i remember in the liberation war, general Aoun fired rockets on my school in Beirut.
It's like, one day everything is fine, the next day for no appearent reason, all hell breaks loose. Everybody had weapons, and there was no way to tell whether someone was your friend or your ennemy until a battle breaks.
