Technology Alps pointing device

I got a Compaq C731EM Laptop with vista.

Occasionally I get error messages saying 'alps-pointing device has stopped working. this programme will close now.' I think that it is referring to my Touchpad function.

Occasionally my pointer arrow freezes or becomes sluggish.

The problem doesn't necessarily occur when the error message is displayed.

Anyone else have this problem? It is minor, but frustrating at the same time.

that is the software for the touch pad, i would contact the tech support, the software isnt probably install correctly.

I dont have this problem anymore. Dont know why. I do have my laptop on for hours at a time though, but its a new one though.


I had problems with my CDROM drive, called the tech guys at HP and it was collected on the Friday, and I had it returned by Monday. Some Bios upgrade or something. I didn't get insurance, fuck PC world, they aint getting more of my cash. Im happy with the warranty for now. They sold me a crap anti virus package though. My Bro recommend I use Avast in future.
